Why LetterOku?

Neuroplasticity Requires continued challenges and Newness

Each LetterOku Edition requires the solver to remember a new set of letters to solve for, which equates to challenging and newness. These puzzles are not only fun but solving them triggers neuroplasticity. Therefore, working LetterOku puzzles helps your brain. These puzzles give you hours of fun, brain exercises.

Symptom-Free Vivacious Living:

Studies have shown that people who train their brains regularly can often stave off the symptoms of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Neuroplasticity helps stroke survivors (and other brain injuries) recover their cognitive power more quickly, making full recovery a probability rather than just a possibility.

Autopsies were done on highly-productive seniors–after death, of course–and found that they had been living with full-blown Alzheimer’s disease. Yet they had shown no signs of having the disease while alive.

One such study followed nuns in a convent. These nuns were tested regularly for cognitive changes. This convent order was especially active in the community and each nun was engaged in learning new skills. Their cognitive scores showed no signs of dementia. After death, autopsies showed that many of them had the signs of Alzheimer’s disease. Yet due to neuroplasticity, these nuns had continued to do well on cognitive tests and had continued to be contributing members of society well into their 90s.
